They made mountains out of a plain

2015
Coober Pedy

They made mountains out of a plain was shot on the outskirts of the opal mining town of Coober Pedy in South Australia. Beside each of these mountains there are gaping holes in the ground. The landscape here is full of an intense beauty and sorrow. It is unsettling. These man made ‘mountains’ extend as far as the eye can see.

In late November 2015 The made mountains out of a plain was screened at Paradise Music Festival, curated by Melissa Edwards. The video was produced as part of Art of the MOOC.
