ROADS

2020

A video—accumulating—about here and there, and everywhere. But especially here. With thoughts of Australia, Kashmir and so much of the world where the silver spoon of development rules.

ROADS is one part of a growing collection of scenes re-scripted from the film Kings in Grass Castles which tells the story of the Durack family who were among the first Europeans to colonise the north-west of Australia, specifically Miriwoong country where Alana lives.

The video was first screened in August 2020 as part of If these walls could talk—a covid-safe outdoor video art event on the streets of Karachi curated by Amin Gulgee and Sara Pagganwala.
